Mary Elizabeth Moffett

April 3, 2002 ~ July 1, 2022 (age 20)

Mary Elizabeth Moffett passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022. She was 20 years old. She was born on April 3, 2002, in Flowood, MS.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Tony Moffett.

She is survived by her mother, Sherri Ables; three sisters, Katherine Moffett, Emily Lauran Schreiber, and Clara Grace Moffett; six nieces, Everlee McBroom, Ellian McBroom, Finley, and Parker Bumgardner, Dawsyn Malone, Madeline Malone; grandparents, Chris and Laura Ables; grandmother, Sarah Moffett; father, John Brewer Moffett. 

A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 9:00 A.M. A memorial service will follow, with Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating the service. 

Happy 38th Birthday Sonya!

My Granddaughter, Sonya Michelle Gordy, turns 38 years old today! She is the oldest of six granddaughters, and I'm proud to say that she has served in the U. S. Navy. She went to boot camp at Great Lakes, IL, and was stationed at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. She had signed up for 6 years and planned to be a linguist but became ill and was honorably medically discharged. She attended MS State University at Starkville and the University of Southern MS at Hattiesburg. She's planning to return to Southern MS to further her education. Sonya is fluent in French, German, Spanish, and Chinese Mandarin. While living in her hometown of Vicksburg, Sonya took the Hunters Education Course and had planned to hunt with me until she moved away to Magee, MS. I would take her to the deer camp and practice shooting my .22 rifle, and she was very good at hitting the bull's eye. Sonya has also performed on stage at the Vicksburg Little Theater and took acting lessons in college. I wish her a very Happy Birthday, and may she have many more returns of the day! I love and miss you so much! Have a Blessed Birthday, and I look forward to seeing you soon. Gran-Gran 

Happy 22nd Anniversary Suzi & Dennis

Today, my youngest daughter, Suzi, and son-in-law, Dennis, are celebrating their 22nd Wedding Anniversary.  They were married at Cedar Grove Chapel/Mansion in Vicksburg, MS.  They are the proud parents of Emma (14) and Kate (9).

Happy Number One Birthday Asher!

Asher was one year old on May 8, and I forgot to post his picture.  But better late than never.  I went to his Birthday party at my daughter's home in Raymond, MS, and we all had a wonderful time celebrating his very first birthday.  He will be moving to Florida with his Mom (Caitlyn) and staying with his Grandparents in Sebring.  Dad (Ethan) will follow in September when he gets out of the U. S. Air Force in ND after serving 10 years for our country.

Happy 9th Birthday Kate

Kate turned 9 years old on April 10th.  She is opening her card from me (Gran Gran) with $9.00 dollars (4-ones and a 5 dollar bill).  Suzi took the picture, and she said it was a lot of money.  I also got her $30.00 gift card from Starbucks since she likes to go there and get a carmel latte.  She had a big birthday party and 7 guests stayed overnight.  I love you so much, Kate and hope to see you and your sister, Emma, in September when your Mom turns the big 50.  xoxo
