In Memory Of Mom

February 11, 1921 ~ March 17, 1979

Today Mom would have been 95 years old but only lived to be 58 years old and died on March 17, 1979 of pancreatic cancer. As of today she has been gone for 37 years.  Missing Mom!

Thomas Blanchard Huff's Obituary

Thomas Blanchard Huff

Fort Worth, TX - Thomas Blanchard Huff died Monday, April 11, 2005, in Fort Worth, TX.  He was 89.

Mr. Huff was born in New Orleans to Myra Clark Gaines Mazerat and Watson Huff.  He retired to Slidell, LA, where he lived for 10 years, then moved to Fort Worth two years ago.

He was a gunnery sergeant in the Army in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star.  He had worked for the railroad, managed apartments and was proprietor of Huff's Hardware.  He was a member of AmVets, VFW Post 7194, the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Timberwolves, his infantry division.

He was preceeded in death by his wife, Josephine Rice Huff.

Survivors include two daughter, Tomi Huff of Fort Worth and Ann Meier Klees of Tampa, FL; one son, James Meier of Covington, LA; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and other relatives, including Marian Love Phillips, Laura Love Ables and Marion Edward Love Jr., all of Vicksburg.

A memorial service was Saturday at Holy Angels Convent in New Orleans.

Burial followed at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Sidney Joseph Mazerat, III Obituary

Sidney J. Mazerat, III died on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the age of 69 years.  Brother of Sylvia M. Norton (Thomas).  Uncle of Peggy Dunn (Kevin), Branden Strom and Michelle Stanton.  Also survived by cousins, friends and special friends, Sparky and Zydeco.  Sidney was a graduate of Holy Cross High School.  He was a past president of the Genealogical Research Society of New Orleans (1999-2002 and 2008-2010).  He was a parishioner of St. James Major Catholic Church.  Sidney was a member of the Louisiana Historical Society, Louisiana Landmarks Society, Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans, Save Our Cemeteries, National Trust for Historic Preservation, treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans from 1998-1999.  He was an avid collector of antiques and Carnival memorabilia, a music lover and longtime supporter of the New Orleans Opera Association and the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra (now the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra) and a great admirer of Renata Tevaldi.  The family would like to express their very deep gratitude to Randy Laumann for his ongoing help.  Mass of Christian Burial at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park.  Donations may be made to The Catholic Bookstore, 3003 S. Happy Birthday Jeanette Jones Ring!

Today is my best-est friend in the whole wide world's birthday and she is 10 years and 10 days younger than me.  I will be 75 on January 27 and she turns 65 today.  Wishing her many more returns of the day and sending lots of love and hugs her way! Happy Birthday my dear friend!

In Memory of Sidney Mazerat

Got word today that my cousin, Sidney Mazerat, has died.  This picture was taken on December 19, 2015 only 3-1/2 weeks ago. So sad to learn of his passing.  I loved him dearly.  My cousin Tomi Lynn and myself at his 48th Christmas Celebration.
