I love this picture of my Dad, Marion E. Love, Sr., in his youth.  Today, he is in my thoughts, having passed away on November 7, 1987.  I miss him so much and look forward to seeing him again someday. 

Happy 17th Birthday, Ian

Today, my great-grandson Ian is 17 years old. This picture was taken in September at Rocky Springs campground on the Natchez Trace Parkway, celebrating my other two great-grandson's birthdays. Happy 36 Birthday Victoria Leigh

Today, my granddaughter, Victoria Leigh, celebrates her 36th birthday and Halloween. Being born on Halloween, her Dad called her “Spook,” which fits her perfectly. She gave me my great-grandson Ian, a very caring and sweet granddaughter. I wish her a very Happy Birthday full of happiness and joy. I love you so very much, Victoria! Gran Gran xoxo

Happy 55th Birthday, Debra Ann

I wish my daughter, Debra Ann, a Happy 55th Birthday today. Debra is the mother of two sons, one in the Air Force serving our country for 12 years, and a daughter who has given her two grandsons. She is a nanny for two doctors caring for their young daughter. She is a hard-working mother, and I’m proud of her accomplishments. I love her so much and hope her birthday will be great! xoxo

Happy "Heavenly" 60th Birthday, William David

I wish my only son, William David Boyd, a Happy "Heavenly" Birthday today. He would have been 60 years old. He was my second born, who passed away on October 26, 1964, from Hyaline Membrane Disease of the Lungs. He was born before my oldest daughter was a year old on November 11. This is the only picture of my daughters with their brother, most likely taken in 1974 or 1975. I treasure this picture; I will be with him in heaven one day.  

Happy Birthday Noah & Will

I want to wish my two great-grandsons a very Happy Birthday. Noah is 6 years old today, and William David will be 7 tomorrow. They will have a birthday bash tomorrow at Rocky Springs Campground on the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Today, my youngest of four daughters, Marian Suzanne "Suzi" Nicholas, turns 52.  She is an excellent Mother to her daughters, Emma (17) and Kate (11).  I am so proud of who she has become, and I wish her a happy and blessed birthday.  I love you very much, Suzi!  Mom

My Granddaughter, Sonya Michelle Gordy, turns 40 years old today! She is the firstborn of six granddaughters and was at the hospital when she came into this world at 4:00 a.m. I'm proud to say that she has served our country in the U. S. Navy. I wish her a happy 40th birthday today and hope she has many more returns of the day. I love you, Gran Gran.  <3

Cousin, Bill Butner Died October 14, 2022

Bill Butner, 80, of Bartlett, TN, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.  Visitation will be held from 12 until 2 PM Tuesday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley, with graveside services to follow in Woodville Cemetery.

Mr. Butner was an accountant and professional musician.  He was also a member of Central Church in Collierville and a United States Air Force Veteran.

He is survived by a friend, Ronnie Canipe of Bartlett; a sister, Vina Sue Butner of Sherman, TX; and 2 brothers, Jimmy Butner and Bobby Butner of Ripley, TN.

Just found out last week from Mary Ann Kagle that our cousin, Bill Butner, passed away almost two years ago.  May Bill rest in peace!

Happy 24th Wedding Anniversary Suzi & Dennis

I wish my daughter, Marian Suzanne (Suzi), and Dennis a happy 24th wedding anniversary today. They were married at Cedar Grove Chapel at Cedar Grove Mansion Inn in Vicksburg, MS.  Here is a picture of them cutting the groom's cake. They flew to Spain for their honeymoon and went on a Mediterranean Cruise. They gave me two beautiful granddaughters, Emma, 17, and Kate, 11. I love you both so much. Enjoy your special day. Mom

I recently found my Grandfather's obituary in my parent's bible (which was given to my daughter, Debra Ann Boyd.  DOB: June 2, 1882 ~ DOD: June 7, 1960

James Mason Dies Tuesday, Rites Thursday

James Arthur Mason, 78, died Tuesday afternoon at 6 o'clock in a Jackson hospital after a long illness.

Born in DeBouise County, Indiana, he has lived in Vicksburg since 1927. Mr. Mason is a retired forest ranger who served as a tree surgeon in the Vicksburg National Military Park. After leaving the park service, he became a carpenter.

Mr. Mason was a Long Lake Baptist church member and a Mason belonging to the Russellville, Ark., lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Floyd Mason, Kingston, NY; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Duncan (Ruby), Chaffee, MO., Mrs. Field Rielly (Bonita), Kingston, NY., and Mrs. Marion E. Love (Evelyn), of Vicksburg; two sons, LeRoy Mason, Raymond, MS, and Charles Wesley Mason, Kingston, NY; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Jose Blaney, Russellville, AK, and Lizzie Stubblefield, Morrilton, AK.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Hugh T. Smith, pastor of Long Lake Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be W. M. Walley, M. D. Ogle, Ernest Hawthorne, Charlie Rafferty, M. L. Halman, John Winter, Dewitt Walker, Floyd McKay, Tom Rodenbaugh, George May, Henry Allen, O. J. Bori, D. A. Daid and J. L. Hudgins.
