Where I met my first husband, Jesse A. Boyd, Jr., at The Glass Kitchen in 1960 while with Connie Kahn at the corner of South and Walnut Streets. Jesse was born and raised in Vicksburg, MS and attended St. Aloysius High School graduating the in Class of 1952. Married on September 29, 1962. Five children: Theresa Marie Boyd, November 11, 1963; William David Boyd, October 25, 1964 and Died, October 26, 1964; Kathleen Love Boyd, January 21, 1966; Debra Ann Boyd, October 27, 1969 and Marian Suzanne Boyd, September 25, 1972. Divorced in November 1978.
Where I met my second husband, Robert W. Phillips, at the Hotel Vicksburg at a dance on the second floor March 1985 and in April he called me for a date. This was at the corner of Clay and Walnut Streets which was only two blocks apart. Robert "Bob" attended Boys Town in Omaha, NE and graduating in the Class of 1961. Bob was born in Dearborn, MI. Married on April 3, 1988. Step-son, George Gregory Phillips, April 15, 1967 and Step-daughter, Karen Phillips Huckabee/Whitmore, May 9, 1968. Court date for divorced is August 22, 2016.
Came across this picture on Facebook yesterday of the Hotel Vicksburg under construction back in 1927.
