William David Boyd ~ 52 years old

I'm thinking about my only son, William David Boyd, who would have been 52 years old today but died after 19 hours. It's always hard getting past today and tomorrow after all these years. I did get to hold him only for a few minutes before he was taken from me and put in an incubator and diagnosed with hyaline membrane disease of the lungs. They say that when you lose a child you lose your future...so true and leaves an empty space in your heart forever. It's very comforting to know that one day we'll meet again in heaven...my littlest angel. May God Bless him!

Wishing my Granddaughter, Candace Lynne, a very Happy Birthday today!  Candace was born at 1:38 p.m., October 19, 1984 and weighed 6lbs. 13 oz., at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. 

The picture with her dog was taken October 2, 2016 while waiting on a train to pass. A beautiful picture of both, I would say.

My Dad's Obituary for family and friends.  

Mr. Marion Edward Love Sr. died Friday night, Nov. 7, 1987, at the Vicksburg Medical Center.  He was 71.

A native of New Orleans, he had been a resident of Vicksburg most of his life.

Mr. Love was a retired auto parts manager and in later years was employed by Mercy Regional Medical Center.  He was a 50-year graduate of St. Aloysius High School, a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Mason Love, and is survived by two daughters, Ms. Marian Love Boyd, Mrs. J. C. "Laura" Ables both of Vicksburg; one son, Marion Edward Love Jr. of Vicksburg; 12 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday with Rosary at 4 p.m.

Pallbearers will be James Speyerer, Charles B. Roesch, Paul Gordy, Jesse Boyd, Wayne Beard, Bob Hulett, Mike Wally, Gillis McMahon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Morris Peck, Jerry Woods, Mike Withrow, Larry Gordon, Lewis Logue, Walter Halberg, Redd Dykes, Wilton Adair and (My Godfather) O.J. Bori.

Uncle Phil Rielly's Birthday!

I came across my Uncle Phil blowing out his birthday candles recently on my cousin's Mark's/Mike's Facebook pages.  I have not seen him in over 60+ years and was so happy to finally see him again. He is my only living Uncle I have left and that could be my Aunt Bunny at the table with him.  Uncle Phil is in his mid 90's now.  Aunt Bunny is my Mother's youngest sister and only living sibling. They live at 18 Denver Road, Kingston, New York.  12401

Fifty-Four Years Ago

I wanted to get married on St. Michael the Archangel's Feast Day and I did 54 years ago today to Jesse Aaron Boyd, Jr. at St. Paul's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m.  We had a Nuptial Mass celebrated by Father Benard Law who is now a Cardinal residing in Rome, Italy.  My wedding reception was held at The Vicksburg Hotel.  We went on our honeymoon to the Terrymore Hotel in Jackson, MS.

Today is my Great Nephew, Oliver Love's 3rd Birthday!  He had a really nice one with a big red fire engine truck showing up in front of his house today.  He got to blow the horn, siren and played with the big water hose.  What a treat for a little 3-year-old! Myself, Grandson Stephen (Utica, MS), Granddaughter Lucy (Clinton, MS) and her boyfriend Josh, Daughter Debra (Raymond, MS), Granddaughter Sonya (Magee, MS) and Daughter Theresa "Teri" (Magee, MS) came to celebrate their Dad's 83rd Birthday today at his Pecan Ridge Apartment.  We had chips & salsa dip, pizza, drinks, cake and ice cream and watch home movies way back in the 60's and 70's of our four daughters growing up. Everyone had a really nice time!  Missed Daughter Kathy who lives in WI and Marian "Suzi" who lives in Fredericksburg, VA. First and Second Husbands

Where I met my first husband, Jesse A. Boyd, Jr., at The Glass Kitchen in 1960 while with Connie Kahn at the corner of South and Walnut Streets. Jesse was born and raised in Vicksburg, MS and attended St. Aloysius High School graduating the in Class of 1952. Married on September 29, 1962.  Five children: Theresa Marie Boyd, November 11, 1963; William David Boyd, October 25, 1964 and Died, October 26, 1964; Kathleen Love Boyd, January 21, 1966; Debra Ann Boyd, October 27, 1969 and Marian Suzanne Boyd, September 25, 1972.  Divorced in November 1978.

Where I met my second husband, Robert W. Phillips, at the Hotel Vicksburg at a dance on the second floor March 1985 and in April he called me for a date.  This was at the corner of Clay and Walnut Streets which was only two blocks apart.  Robert "Bob" attended Boys Town in Omaha, NE and graduating in the Class of 1961. Bob was born in Dearborn, MI.  Married on April 3, 1988.  Step-son, George Gregory Phillips, April 15, 1967 and Step-daughter, Karen Phillips Huckabee/Whitmore, May 9, 1968.  Court date for divorced is August 22, 2016.

Theresa Marie Boyd (Teri) was born on Veteran's Day, November 11th.  Back then you would stay 5 days in the hospital but not now.  My first husband and I had planned to go on a picnic in the Vicksburg National Military Park but of course we had to change plans!  She was actually due on the day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated but came early. I was 22 years old.

Cooling Off With Popsicles!

My youngest daughter, Marian Suzanne "Suzi" posted this cute picture of my two granddaughters, Emma and little Kate the other day on Facebook and had to post to our family blog.  I really miss watching them grow up and wished someday they could move closer to home so I can get in my truck and go and see them.   Virginia is so far away from Mississippi.  Kate just turned 3 in April and Emma will soon be 9 years old next month.  Time really flies by so fast and I'm missing me some grand-babies really bad.   

Missing My Dad

Today is the day my Dad was born on June 12, 1916 and passed away on November 6, 1987.  I still have the reclining chair that he is sitting in back in the 80's and this picture is on my nightstand by my bed. I love and miss him so much!

Happy 16th Wedding Anniversary!

Wishing my youngest daughter, Marian Suzanne (Suzi) and son-in-law, Dennis, a very Happy 16th Wedding Anniversary today.

They were married at the Chapel At Cedar Grove and stayed overnight at Cedar Grove Mansion Inn in Vicksburg, MS.  Later they flew to Spain and took a Mediterranean Cruise for their honeymoon.  

Suzi and Dennis live in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and he works for the FAA in Washington, DC.  They have given me two beautiful granddaughters, Emma 8-years-old and Kate 3-years old.  I love you all so very much!
